If you’re a regular reader, you know that I like to help empower the commercial real estate community with all things technology —I love to share what I’m learning, what I’m using, and what I’m hearing. Almost to a fault.

Increasingly, more and more of you are reading my blog via a Chrome browser (thanks data!), so I thought it would be fun —and useful— to share some of the best Chrome extensions for the modern-day CRE professional. The ones that can help streamline your day and your business.

Here’s my list:

#1. Discoverly

In the commercial real estate business, we’re constantly networking and prospecting. With Discoverly, you can see your Gmail contacts’ work information, mutual connections and tweets! It also works with LinkedIn profiles to let you see when you have mutual Facebook friends and with Facebook to see LinkedIn information and mutual connections. This one is a no-brainer!

#2. Taco

Did someone say #TacoTuesday? No, seriously —the Taco extension for Chrome is a great way to keep you task-oriented throughout the day. It can pull your tasks from 40+ different platforms (including Asana, Basecamp, GitHub, Gmail, Trello, Todoist and others) into a single page on your desktop! Stay organized, my friend.

#3. Office Editing

Work on a mac? It can be super irritating when you’re on-the-go and need to edit a Microsoft Word, Excel or PowerPoint file and don’t have Office installed on your computer. Add the Office Editing extension to your browser and these types of files will be opened in Google Docs, Sheets and Slides for viewing and editing.

#4. Google Keep

Want to save a webpage, image or quote for later? Similar to Evernote, Google Keep allows you to save things you care about —and have them synced across all the platforms you use! You can also add notes and labels to quickly stay organized and to make finding the things you’ve saved easier!

#5. Noisli

Perhaps this is a little whimsical … but when you’re working in a crowded coffee shop or a busy brokerage office, a noisy environment can be distracting. Noisli solves this problem by creating ambient noise for a more peaceful workspace. Tweet me if you try this one!

#6. Screencastify

Need to record an important presentation? Want to save a webinar or screen share —even with audio? Screencastify is a video screen capture extension that is able to record all screen activity and autio inside a tab. With all the training and presentations we do on a regular basis, this could be super handy!

#7. Boomerang

Use Gmail? The Boomerang extension allows you to schedule emails to be sent at a later date. (Think Sunday night organization of Monday morning follow-up emails.) It also allows you to track message to make sure you hear back, and schedule reminders right inside of Gmail. Of course, there’s a limited number of uses before you have to start paying —but this is a pretty handy tool.

#8. Feedly

Want to follow my blog (and others)? Feedly allows you to bring together all your favorite RSS feeds —you can even save pages for later, email stories, tweet them out and more! It’s super useful if you follow a lot of blogs and want to get all of your content in one place.

What Chrome extensions are you currently using? And, how do they help you with your CRE business (or just life in general)? Let’s continue this conversation over on LinkedIn.
